New York City (NYC) OnlyFans

More people live in New York's five boroughs than in any other American city, and 7,170 creators appear in its section here. Two camps emerge. One is the long-timers, listed for years, who built their pages slowly and kept them going. The other is this month's arrivals: a stand-up comic, a doctor and a traveller who lives for festival weekends, all of whom went straight in among the regulars.

The city splits two ways as well. Some of these creators belong to Manhattan. One belongs to a Brooklyn barbershop with a comedy night in the back. Others treat the harbour city as a place to come home to between trips to New England, London or Los Angeles. A doctor who heads for open water sits beside a dominatrix who works both coasts.

#1Vanniall: The Studio Venus Who Shrugs Off the Bugs

Vanniall applies art-school thinking to everything. She treats her own image as Venus rebuilt as a concept and runs her own studio. Home in New England, that studio and a hiking trail make up her days, with New York the city she keeps rushing back to. A woodland shoot in Massachusetts turned her into dinner for every insect in the county, and she called it well worth it. Her long flight to London bored her stiff, which she made clear. A wicked wit matches her sultry, knowing allure. Her OnlyFans page runs on live streams, videos and chat, and she carries the site's bunny label.

#3Twerk model: The Shoreline Dancer Who Charms in Every Language

Fansly shows Twerk model, a twerk dancer and model, with dancing at the centre. Her summers belong to the shore. The gym gets the odd session, but beach days and clear water keep coming up again and again. Charm that crosses languages easily goes with a sweet, flirty mood, not a brash one. Fans get dance videos, photos, custom videos and private chat.

#4Riley Blake: The Festival Regular With a Passport Habit

Big nights out and long trips abroad are the two constants for Riley Blake. Festival weekends come round again and again in her year, and her summers have taken in Greece, France and Fiji. The cheeky, playful energy hides a little temptation in reserve. Fans of hers on OnlyFans receive photos, videos, personal messages and regular surprises.

#5Dr Jenna: The Physician Who Heads for Open Water

Medicine pays the bills for Dr Jenna, a qualified doctor who keeps her clinical composure strictly for daytime. After hours she turns sultry and very curious. Much of her free time goes on the sea: sailing and boating keep coming up, along with a beach or two and a lot of open ocean. Under the mischief sits a save-the-planet, ditch-the-plastic streak. On OnlyFans she stays faceless, offering photos, videos and special requests and handling messages herself.

#6Mia V: The Romantic With Mischief in Her Luggage

Romance is the word Mia V lives by, and a devilish streak runs right through it. This working model kept moving through the past year, from Los Angeles to Costa Rica and back east to Chicago, and a winter shoot in New York was all mischief. Photographers adore her for being dynamic and playful. Glamorous, with a wink. She sends photos, videos and GIFs through OnlyFans and personally writes back to every message.

#7Meka Mo: The Barbershop Compère Who Maps the City's Cultures

Stand-up is both the day job and the night job for Meka Mo, a New York comedian who tours internationally. She co-hosts a comedy night at home, drinks on the house, bring-your-own, in a Williamsburg barbershop's back room. She also runs a series saluting the cultures that make New York tick, from the Irish of Woodside to Muslim New Yorkers in Little Egypt and Harlem. In summer she covered the UK and Europe, with Paris and then a Jay Z concert along the way. She is quick and warm, and endlessly curious about her city. Her OnlyFans page holds full unreleased sets, her Edinburgh preparation and stories from life on the road.

#9Goddess Vivien Femdom: The Bicoastal Dominatrix Behind Her Own Lens

The dangerous, addictive goddess is a role the dominatrix Goddess Vivien Femdom plays with relish on both coasts, Manhattan and Los Angeles. She has been at this for years and handles her own camera work, never shooting with fewer than two cameras so she gets every angle. Her humour is dry: a shutter button, she jokes, is her favourite drawing tool. The mood is commanding and teasing. LoyalFans is her court, built for fans who take direction willingly.

Count the blonde creators in New York and you get 29%; count only the most popular and it is 48%. The clearest pattern here is also a contrary one. Citywide, black hair leads, but it drops sharply with the favourites. So does ink. Brunettes gain a little, the video label barely moves, and custom work actually counts for less near the top. Popular-end crowds go, we think, for something bright that registers at a glance. Most of the characters above are brunette or dark-haired, though, which suggests the labels bring people in and the personalities keep them.
